The Norwegian Ski Association has named the cross-country skiers for their Team ELON Nord-Norge for the season 2025/2026. 

According to a press release from the Norwegian Ski Association, the seven cross-country skiers selected will be part of the Team ELON Nord-Norge for the upcoming season.

“Team ELON Nord-Norge presents a young and exciting lineup. With an average age under 22, and athletes born between 2002 and 2004, the squad will be the youngest ELON team in the coming season.

A beacon for the region

“We’re very proud to present a team filled with talent and ambition. These athletes have already proven they can compete at both national and international levels. This group represents the future of cross-country skiing in Northern Norway. We aim to be a beacon for the region and a springboard for those looking to break into the top tier of Norwegian skiing,” says team leader Stig E. Mortensen.

With a clear focus on youth development and long-term success, the team includes three women and four men — all of whom have delivered strong performances at the Norwegian Championships, Norwegian Cup, Scandinavian Cup, and U23 World Championships over the past two seasons.

In addition to the seven named athletes, the team leadership has decided to leave one spot open for Johan Nordeng. After struggling with health issues in recent years, Nordeng will have until the fall to demonstrate he’s fully ready to commit to high-level competition.”
