Team GS8 has announced the signing of Tova Andersson for the Ski Classics World Championship Season XVIII (2026/2027).

Team GS8 has announced the signing of Tova Andersson for the Ski Classics World Championship Season XVIII (2026/2027).

Andersson joins the Swedish Pro Team, Team GS8, after Team Ramudden, the squad she raced for last season, announced in March that it would shut down operations, with no sponsor or athlete contracts extended.

Announcing the move on social media, Team GS8 wrote:

“We are proud to welcome Tova Andersson to Team GS8 ahead of the 2026/2027 season! Tova competed for Team Ramudden last season, where she delivered an impressive performance and won the Swedish long-distance cup! Now Tova takes the next step in her commitment and joins Team GS8.”

“We are very happy to have Tova as part of Team GS8 and look forward to following her continued development and journey together with us! Welcome to Team GS8, Tova! Let’s give Tova a really warm welcome to the team!”

Andersson, born in 2004, is no stranger to the Ski Classics circuit. She has raced on the Challengers calendar since Season XV (2023/2024) and has started the Pro Tour’s Vasaloppet in each of the past three seasons.

Among her results are wins at Billingens Långlopp, Moraloppet, Craft Ski Marathon, and Bessemerloppet, and a runner-up finish at this year’s Vaajmarathon just last month. She currently sits 184th in the SC ranking.

Christin also joined the Swedish squad

Andersson’s arrival follows the earlier signing of Suzette Christin, a French Pro Team athlete who joined Team GS8 from Team Nordic Expérience/Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petite ahead of Season XVIII.

Christin was one of the standout performers in the Cub category during Season XVII, finishing second overall in the standings with 808 points, behind only Anja Stolpe of The Youth Team.
