There was a German victory in the men’s category and a Czech win in the women’s category at Sunday’s City Biathlon in Dresden.

No men achieved a perfect shooting score, but the cheers were loud in Dresden as Justus Strelow secured a home victory ahead of last year’s winner Eric Perrot.

The strong shooter Justus Strelow had two penalty laps but managed to hold off a strong trio behind him. Eric Perrot sprinted ahead of Italy’s Lukas Hofer and Germany’s Philipp Horn, finishing three seconds behind Strelow.

Ponsiluoma faced five penalty laps and finished 17 seconds off the lead, securing 6th place among the top ten competitors. However, he outperformed Norway’s Sturla Holm Lægreid, who struggled and finished last in the competition.

Czech Republic’s Tereza Vobornikova was the only competitor to shoot perfectly, giving her a solid advantage to win by 12 seconds over Austria’s Anna Gandler, who is training with the French team this year. Lisa Vittozzi was quick on roller skis but finished third after five penalty laps.

Anna Magnusson finished 37 seconds behind after two penalty laps, placing fifth. She was also behind local athlete Janina Hettich-Walz.
