Ski star present at national team camp in Torsby – not yet back in full training
This week, the Swedish women’s national team began its training camp in Torsby. Linn Svahn is taking part, but she is not yet back in full training.
The men’s national team has spent the past week in Torsby, Sweden, alternating between dryland training and skiing in the ski tunnel. At the beginning of this week, the Swedish women began their camp, and Linn Svahn is one of the athletes present.

Neck problems
The training season has brought some problems for Svahn, who fell during a training session at the World Championships in Trondheim.
“In connection with the fall, she got a disc issue in her neck. She still has recurring problems with nerve impact in the neck,” Svahn’s coach, Ola Ravald, told SVT Sport.
It is mainly double poling that has been affected in recent months.
“Double poling and tough double-poling sessions have been the challenge, because it puts too much strain on her neck when she drives the poles into the ground. Running has also affected the neck. But she has found other solutions this summer,” says Ravald.
On site in Torsby
Torsby has a ski tunnel, and Svahn will do most of her training sessions there.
“She’s going there and will be on the snow. It’s gentler compared to asphalt. She will try to work a bit more with her upper body on the snow. When she gets home, we will conduct a new evaluation to determine if the process was successful or if there were any setbacks. Then we’ll adjust from there.”
Doctors have set a prognosis that by the turn of August–September, Svahn’s neck should be good enough for her to do most things.
“That prognosis fits well with how she feels today.”
“A long time left”
There are still several months to go before the season really starts.
“There’s a long time until the World Cup and the Olympics. As long as she can get going with the upper body, it feels fine. If she weren’t more active now and there had been more setbacks, I would be more concerned,” he concludes.
The Swedish women’s team will be in Torsby from August 10–18.
