Hanna Öberg will miss the entire upcoming season as she awaits her first child. Now, another biathlon star is pregnant and will also be absent for the entire 2026/2027 season.

Slovenian star Anamarija Lampic has announced that she and her partner Boštjan Klavžar are expecting their first child. The biathlete shared a photo of the couple clearly showing a growing baby bump, along with comments like “future mom” and “future dad.”

Anamarija Lampic was one of the world’s leading sprinters in cross-country skiing before she made a high-profile switch to biathlon just before the 2023 World Championships held in her home country. She has been the fastest female cross-country skier in biathlon over the past few years, but it has taken time to master the shooting aspect.

Nevertheless, she has already secured two podium finishes in her new sport. As a cross-country skier, Lampic earned three World Championship medals, won three times in the World Cup, and stood on the podium 14 times.

The 31-year-old Anamarija Lampic has not commented on whether she plans to return as a professional athlete after becoming a mother.

Recovery – part 1: The physiology of fatigue

As everyone is already aware, in endurance sports, training must be sufficiently demanding both quantitatively and qualitatively for progressive development to occur. However, with the accumulation of high training volumes and overall stress from non-sporting activities, it is essential to be careful so that the body has enough time for rest and recovery.
