Calle Halfvarsson has made up his mind, he’s aiming for the World Championships in Trondheim next March. And the newly minted father of two is also open to continuing for another two seasons after this. “At least one more year. Then there’s the Olympics in 2026 and the World Championships in Falun in 2027. It’s a dream to finish my career at home in Falun in three years,” Halfvarsson says.

Calle Halfvarsson can look back on a season where fourth place in the long race in Trondheim was the best individual placement in the World Cup.

Now, according to Langd.se, Halfvarsson has decided that he will aim for next year’s World Championships; precisely on the challenging tracks in Trondheim.

“I feel there’s more to give. I feel very motivated and not at all worn out or old. Then there’s an exciting season ahead with the World Championships in Trondheim. That’s where I had my best results last winter with a fourth and a fifth place, and I like the tracks. It would be fun to go there and thumb our noses at the Norwegians,” says Halfvarsson to Falu-Kuriren.

And he also opens up for aiming for the Olympics in 2026 and the World Championships in Falun in 2027.

On Sunday, Calle and his Isabell became parents for the second time, this time to a girl. Almost two years ago, their son Casper-Lo was born.

For Halfvarsson, training for the upcoming season will kick off in earnest in May.

“There won’t be any major changes. It’ll be a bit longer and tougher sessions in the morning, then rest in the afternoon. The setup works well, and I had top-level test results last autumn. Then it’s a bit about how I should train and compete during the season. Especially now that it’s a championship season, so I need to pull back a bit on the reins so there aren’t too many races,” says Halfvarsson to Falu-Kuriren.
