French national team for the Gällivare World Cup

The second stage of the cross-country skiing World Cup season 2023/2024 starts this weekend in Gällivare, Sweden. The French national team is now presented.

Gällivare, Sweden, is the place for the second stage of this year’s cross-country skiing World Cup. The event starts on Saturday, December 2, with a 10km interval start race in freestyle technique, followed by a 4×7.5km relay race in classic/freestyle techniques on Sunday, December 3.

In a press release, the French Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming World Cup in Gällivare. France will start with 9 athletes. On the women’s side, France will start with 3 skiers. Already on the men’s side, 6 athletes will start for the European country. 

Here is the French National Team for the Gällivare World Cup

Women’s Team

  • Delphine Claudel – Armée La Bressaude (Massif des Vosges)
  • Flora Dolci – Armée AS Edelweiss (Alpes Provence)
  • Juliette Ducordeau – Villard de Lans (Dauphiné)

Men’s Team

  • Jules Chappaz – Armée CS La Clusaz (Mont Blanc)
  • Renaud Jay – Douane SC Les Menuires (Savoie)
  • Richard Jouve – Armée CS Méribel (Savoie)
  • Hugo Lapalus – Armée CS La Clusaz (Mont Blanc)
  • Jules Lapierre – Armée SN Chartreuse (Dauphiné)
  • Théo Schely – CS La Clusaz (Mont Blanc)

According to the press release, Clément Parisse contracted mononucleosis. While waiting for a favorable development for a return to his best shape, Clément will not be present at the start of the season.

Also, the French teams will not start in the 4×7.5km relay in Gällivare.
