The Swedish Season Opener in Gällivare got underway this morning with the sprint classic qualification for women and men, setting the stage for an exciting afternoon of finals.

In the women’s sprint qualification, the field delivered tight margins at the top, with the fastest skier posting a decisive time over the 1.2-kilometer course. The top 30 athletes advanced to the heats, scheduled later today.

Top 5 Women – Sprint Classic Qualification

  1. Maja Dahlqvist (SWE), 2:53.79
  2. Nadine Faehndrich (SUI), +0.37
  3. Moa Lundgren (SWE), +1.6
  4. Moa Ilar (SWE), +2.32
