Reistadløpet is fast approaching, and the athletes’ field is nothing short of electrifying. On March 29, 2025, a 46km classic technique event unravels from Setermoen to Bardufoss, and the Pro Team contenders are set to push the limits of speed and stamina. In true ProXCskiing style, we’re breaking down the stats and stories behind the skiers poised to fight for victory in Norway.

Reistadløpet – Men Contenders

Eirik Sverdrup Augdal, Team Eksjöhus – At just 28, Augdal has rapidly emerged as one of Norway’s most explosive talents. Clocking uphill splits that rival the very best, his recent performances have shown him slicing precious seconds off his time on similar hilly circuits. With a race pace that hints at sub‑2:05 finishes in previous editions, Augdal is ready to challenge the established order on this demanding track.

Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus – A model of consistency and technical precision, Axel Jutterström has repeatedly proven his mettle with top‑5 finishes on courses with similar cumulative ascents. His smooth pacing and efficient technique have him clocking race segments that are among the fastest in the field—making him a constant threat to anyone chasing a podium finish.

John Hoel, Team Ragde Charge – Known for his aggressive racing style and blistering recovery on the flats, John Hoel (often referred to by his teammates as the powerhouse of Team Ragde Charge) is a fierce competitor. His knack for dominating the climbs—often shaving off critical seconds in the steepest sections—has repeatedly put him within striking distance of victory.

Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon – An experienced skier with a history of consistent, hard‑fought performances at Reistadløpet, Ole Jørgen Bruvoll brings both experience and endurance to the mix. His race stats over similar distances consistently place him just a heartbeat away from the leaders, proving that tactical pacing and a deep reservoir of stamina can punch above one’s weight—even on a course as unforgiving as this.

Reistadløpet – Women Contenders

Ebba Andersson – Fresh from World Championships wins, Ebba Andersson enters Reistadløpet with a reputation for blistering pace and impeccable technique. Her split-second transitions and consistent speed make her a force to be reckoned with on this iconic course’s steep climbs and variable conditions.

Victoria Carl, Team Ragde Charge – Last year’s runner-up, Victoria Carl, clocked in just over two minutes behind the winner—a margin that underscored her ability to stay right in the mix on challenging terrain. With a knack for reading the course and a record that boasts impressive consistency under pressure, Carl is ready to leverage her strong uphill performances and tactical nous to mount a serious challenge for the podium.

Stina Nilsson, Team Ragde Charge – Stina Nilsson has rapidly become a standout long-distance skier, especially after winning Vasaloppet and Birkebeinerrennet. Known for her explosive starts and remarkable climbing speed—she’s clocked uphill splits that rival the best in the field—Nilsson’s transition has been seamless. Her ability to power through the steepest sections promises to add a new dynamic to the race as she aims to upset established hierarchies.

Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Aker Daehlie – A name synonymous with Reistadløpet’s history, defending champion Astrid Øyre Slind delivered a blistering 2:20:32.7 finish last year. Her seasoned racecraft and intimate knowledge of the course continue to make her the benchmark for excellence. Despite being absent at the Pro Tour this season, Astrid is determined to reclaim her throne in one of the Ski Classics’ most challenging events.

As the athletes prepare to take on a course famed for its relentless climbs and stunning Arctic vistas, every second and every stride will count. Stay tuned as we continue to follow the buildup to what promises to be a thrilling showcase of endurance, technique, and heart.
