She is a prominent figure in biathlon with 13 World Championship gold medals. He is a well-known coach with a career in Germany, but has now taken over the reins in his home country of Norway. Even more significant than all this is Jonas. The couple has welcomed their second son.

Norwegian Marte Olsbu Røiseland announced on Instagram that Jonas was born on August 31.

“On the last day of August, you came into the world and made our family complete,” she writes.

The couple’s eldest son chose the name and, according to his mother, he is very proud.

One of the greatest

Marte Olsbu Røiseland is one of the greatest in the history of biathlon. She boasts 13 World Championship golds and three Olympic golds, along with two silvers and two bronzes.

She made history in Antholz in 2020 by medaling in all five distances. Marte Olsbu Røiseland also won three World Championship golds in Östersund in 2019.
Her last World Championship medal was earned in Oberhof in 2023.

In the World Cup, Olsbu Røiseland has 38 victories, 17 of which are individual wins. She claimed the overall title in the 2021-2022 season. Over her career, she participated in the World Cup for 11 seasons. The now 35-year-old biathlete hails from Froland, north of Kristiansand in southern Norway.

After her career, she has worked as an expert for NRK. However, with two children, a quieter time lies ahead, even though her husband Sverre Røiseland remains active.

In recent years, he has coached the German women’s team. For the upcoming season, he has been hired as the coach for the Norwegian women’s national team. The family was concerned when Sverre was diagnosed with cancer after the Winter Olympics.

Fortunately, Sverre Røiseland is now doing much better, and the entire family is delighted to have grown to four members.
