Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso has been signing some Pro Team athletes for Ski Classics Season XVI and announced a recruit for their squad.

Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso is preparing for the Ski Classics Season XVI (2024/2025) and has started to present its squad. In the past few weeks, it was announced that Norwegian Pro Team athletes Hanna Sandholt Hansen, Karen Amalie Nordseth, and Henning Lie would join the Norwegian Pro Team.

This week, the Pro Team announced a new addition to their squad: the 22-year-old Norwegian Maren Navarrete Aaberg.

Navarrete Aaberg has focused on traditional cross-country skiing and is heading to Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso. Last winter, she showed some solid results, including 53rd place in the 10km race in freestyle technique at the Norwegian Championships in Beitostølen.

Apart from being new to the Pro Tour world, she already tried some Pro Tour events during Season XV, finishing 27th at Summit 2 Senja, 39that Reistadløpet, and 38th at the Ski Classics Grand Finale Janteloppet.

A post on social media announced the signing:

“@teamnaeringsbankenstoraenso has signed Maren Navarrete Aaberg for the 2024/25 season.

@marennaaberg is 22 years old, comes from Lørenskog, and studies law in Oslo.

@marennaaberg has focused on traditional cross-country skiing until now and was, among other things, no. 53 in 10km free in the NM at Beitostølen 2024. Maren tried her hand at cross-country skiing/ @skiclassicsofficial at the end of last season with a strong 27th place in @summit2senja as her best result. There was also a good 39th place in @reistadlopet and 38th place in @janteloppet.”

Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVI

The Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVI is set to captivate ski enthusiasts with its exciting lineup of events. The upcoming season, spanning 14 events across 10 event weekends in 6 different countries, promises an inspiring showcase of skill, determination, and fierce competition. 

The upcoming Season XVI kicks off in Bad Gastein, Austria, on December 13, 2024, with the Pro Team Presentation and ends in Finnsnes, Norway, with the Ski Classics Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja on March 30, 2025. Throughout the Pro Tour, Pro Team athletes will cover an impressive distance of 663 racing kilometers.
