The Ski Classics Challengers event Blåvegenløpet was planned to take place this Saturday in Norway but has been postponed to Sunday, April 13, due to the weather conditions.

Blåvegenløpet Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has decided to postpone the competition, which was planned to take place on Saturday, to Sunday, April 13, 2025, due to the weather conditions.

According to a press release, the LOC believes this decision will ensure participants’ safety and a great day on the tracks for all. 

“PRESS RELEASE: Blåvegenløpet Moved to Sunday Due to Weather Conditions

Due to the weather forecast and in consideration of participants’ safety, we have decided to move Blåvegenløpet 2025 to Sunday, April 13. The forecast shows promising conditions for Sunday, and we want to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

The entire program originally scheduled for Saturday will be moved in its entirety to Sunday.

The race office will be open as usual on Friday. Additionally, we will open for late registration at Meyergården Spektrum on Saturday between 14:00 and 18:00, as well as online registration.

Transportation

The first bus to the start will depart from Meyergården Spektrum at 08:00 on race day. Return transport from Raudvatnet will begin around 11:00.

Blåvegenløpet

Blåvegenløpet is a 34km long-distance race in classic technique in Mo i Rana, Norway.

With a history dating back to 1979, Blåvegenløpet is once again part of the Ski Classics Challengers series. Each year, the event attracts between 1,000 and 1,500 skiers to the Helgeland region of Northern Norway.

For 2025, Blåvegenløpet offers four race distances: 7.5km, 15km, 28km, and 34km (Ski Classics Challengers). The event welcomes everyone from families to professional athletes, creating a vibrant celebration of skiing.

The course follows the Blue Road (E12), which connects Norway and Sweden. The race starts in Umbukta, just 3km from the Swedish border, and finishes just outside the city of Mo i Rana.
