Two More Racers Leave Tour de Ski

by Ingeborg Scheve • 01.01.2022
Moa Lundgren of Sweden and Emil Iversen of Norway have decided to leave Tour de Ski.

Sweden’s Moa Lundgren and Emil Iversen of Norway abandon the 2022 Tour de Ski after three of the six stages.

After conferring with his coaches, Emil Iversen has decided to leave Tour de Ski prior to the sprint finals because he fails to find a good vibe. “I just don’t have any energy,” Iversen says.

The 30-year-old Norwegian has already left Oberstdorf, Germany.

Moa Lundgren abandoned Tour de Ski prior to stage 4 of the six-stage event. She did not go to the start of the classic sprint race on Saturday morning.

“Moa feels that her body doesn’t respond as expected, and she pulls out in order to avoid ending in the same place where she was last season,” says Magnus Ingesson, head coach for the Swedish women’s team.

Tour de Ski now moves on to Italy for the last two stages of the 2022 Tour de Ski. Stage 5 features a 10km mass start classic race for women and 15km mass start classic race for men.
