The Norwegian Ski Association has named the cross-country skiers for their Team ELON SørVest for the season 2025/2026. 

According to a press release from the Norwegian Ski Association, the six cross-country skiers selected will be part of the Team ELON SørVest (South West) for the upcoming season.

“The team has changed its name from Team ELON Vest to Team ELON SørVest to better reflect the region in Norway the team comes from. The ski associations of Hordaland, Agder, and Rogaland, as well as Sogn og Fjordane, are behind Team ELON SørVest.

With an average age of 23, Team ELON SørVest is the youngest ELON team this season.
“We have selected a strong team of six athletes. Last season, four of them represented Norway in the World Cup, with a total of 10 starts. Mathias Holbæk and Thomas Mollestad were also selected for Norway’s squad at the U23 World Championships. Mathias won three gold medals out of three possible, while Thomas secured a gold, silver, and bronze. In addition, they took silver and bronze at the Norwegian Championships in Vang. Aron Åkre Rysstad and Sivert Wiig achieved podium finishes in both the Norwegian Cup and Scandinavian Cup, and also represented Norway in the World Cup,” says Henning Wiig, head of the management group for Team ELON SørVest.
