Norwegian Team For The Junior World Championships

by Leandro Lutz • 13.01.2023
The Junior World Ski Championships start at the end of January. The Norwegian Team is presented for the event in Whistler, Canada, from January 28 to February 4.

In a press release, the Norwegian Ski Association named their cross-country ski team for the Junior World Championships. Norway will start with 14 athletes. On the women’s side, Norway will begin with seven skiers. Already on the men’s side, also seven athletes will start for the Scandinavian country.

According to the press release, “the goal is to field the best possible Team that can compete for medals in all races in the Junior World Championships. Skiers in the 19/20 age group are primarily selected. Skiers in the 18-year-old class are considered but must perform better than skiers in the 19/20-years old class to be selected. Four athletes line up for a start per distance. Athletes who perform in sprint and distance will have an advantage in the selection. Skiers in class 17 are not considered.”

The Norwegian Team for the U23 World Championships will be selected after the Scandinavian Cup in Falun, Sweden, which will be held this weekend.
