With the original course of 52 km skied in three loops of 17,3 km, the second Visma Ski Classics Challengers event Season XI took place today in Sandviken, Sweden.
Team Ramudden took a double victory by Ida Dahl and Max Novak.

For years, Bessemerloppet is used by skiers as preparation for Vasaloppet as it takes place exactly two weeks before the biggest Swedish long-distance ski event. Even this year, some Visma Ski Classics Pro Team athletes took the chance to test their form and managed to win the race in both the women’s and men’s class.

Weather conditions were not an obstacle to performing an action-packed Visma Ski Classics Challengers event. Even though it rained all Saturday and during the night to Sunday, the tracks were in good conditions, given the circumstances.

The women started at 8:45 CET, and the race presented a clear victory for Ida Dahl, Team Ramudden, with almost nine minutes ahead of Linn Sömskar, Team Nordic Athlete, and Maria Gräfnings, Vltava Fund Ski Team.

The action in the men’s event was intense until the final meters of the race. Max Novak, Team Ramudden, won in a photo finish after 2:22:24 hours just ahead of Gabriel Höjlind, Team Engcon, and Johannes Eklöf, Team Ramudden.

Bessemerloppet results can be found at https://vismaskiclassics.com/results/. All athletes that participated at Bessemerloppet will receive points for the SC Ranking and can check their updated results on MyPages.

The next Visma Ski Classics Challengers event is Novosibirsk Classic Marathon on March 6th. See a full list of Visma Ski Classics Pro Tour and Challengers events on vismaskiclassics.com
