Julia Häger, who managed to get a silver medal in the sprint competition at the Finnish Championships will race at least four Visma Ski Classics stages in Team Mäenpää’s colors next winter. She will participate in the prologue races in Orsa, Sweden, in December and later in the season in Marcialonga in Italy and finally in the finale Ylläs-Levi in Finland.

“It is possible that she may do even more races if her calendar allows it. She will also be part of our next training camp in Livigno,” says Team Mäenpää’s manager Kim Mäenpää.

Häger succeeded well in sprint skiing, but that didn’t stop her from taking a step towards long distances.

“It feels fun and exciting to test my capacity in ski long distances in Team Mäenpää’s ranks this coming winter. The world of long skiing is unknown to me, so I expect to learn a lot and develop myself,” says Häger.

Team Mäenpää wanted to give Häger the opportunity to try long distances, and the team is happy that she seized the opportunity.

“It’s good to have new faces in the Visma Ski Classics series, and the great advantage is that Julia comes from our home region. She has performed well at the Finnish Championships, and she is a strong and stubborn athlete, which is a good thing,” says Mäenpää.
