With the Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVII calendar now released, Norwegian-based Team Andiamo is preparing for another exciting year on the Pro Tour circuit.

Known for its refreshing energy and off-track presence, the Pro Team also continues to make strides on snow, mixing fun with increasingly competitive performances. Pro Team Director Ivar Ryttervold shares his thoughts on the upcoming season, reflects on highlights from last winter, and outlines what’s next for Team Andiamo.

Calendar Brings Back a Favorite Format

The return of the Pro Team Tempo, scheduled to open the Pro Tour in Bad Gastein, is particularly welcome news for Team Andiamo.

“The new calendar looks great! And we’re especially happy to see the Team Tempo back on the program — it’s a discipline we actually practice together every week, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise if we deliver a strong start to the season,” says Ryttervold to Ski Classics and ProXCskiing.com.

New Race Formats? Challenge Accepted

While some Pro Teams have voiced concern about the new additions to the calendar, including the Bedřichov Sprint and 50km ITTs, Team Andiamo embraces the variety.

“Unlike some of the other teams we’ve spoken to, we actually welcome both the sprint and individual time trial formats,” Ryttervold explains and adds:

“We have athletes with strong sprinting backgrounds — including national sprint champions — as well as skiers who’ve delivered excellent results in individual 50k races in the past. So, we’re quite looking forward to these additions!”

Beyond Expectations in Season XVI

Team Andiamo ended Season XVI in 28th place in the overall Pro Team competition, but the results alone don’t tell the full story.

“While we may have received the most attention for things happening off the tracks,” Ryttervold says, “I would say we performed beyond expectations on the tracks too — with several Top 50 results among the men and some truly strong performances from our women. All in all, a season we’re very proud of.”

Looking Ahead: More Fun, More Fight

As for Season XVII, the Pro Team stays true to its roots while aiming to keep climbing in the rankings.

“The plan is to keep having fun at the races, maintain a playful approach, continue to put our team on the map — and, who knows, maybe mix it up with some of the big names in a few races.”

Team Updates: Core Stays Strong, Bonus Athlete Possible

Team Andiamo heads into the new season with its core squad intact, a strategy Ryttervold believes in.

“Never change a winning team! Our core squad stays intact, but we are also exploring the option of registering a bonus athlete for the final part of the season — where anything can happen.”
