Skadi Loppet – German Ski Marathon Championship

The Skadi Loppet is one of Germany’s two major ski marathon events. Each year, the German Ski Marathon Championships are held at the König Ludwig Lauf and the Skadi Loppet. These championships are contested in both freestyle and classic techniques.

In 2025, the Skadi Loppet will once again offer challenging and memorable courses for all participants. The winners will be crowned in the heart of the Bavarian Forest and under the shadow of the Grosser Arber. The event’s motto is: “Do you love a challenge?  – then come to the Skadi Loppet!!” There are races tailored for all skill levels and age groups.

The highlights of the 2025 edition will be the German Ski Marathon Championship in freestyle technique over 42 kilometers, taking place during the “Sparkassen Jet” on Saturday. On Sunday, participants will compete in the classic technique over 42 kilometers in the “SUBARU Skadi Loppet,” now a Ski Classics Challengers event. Additionally, both event days will feature a 22-kilometer course.

Unique Atmosphere and Demanding Courses

The Skadi Loppet tracks in the high forests above Bodenmais offer a unique ski marathon atmosphere. Featuring breathtaking panoramas of the expansive Bavarian Forest, participants will conquer 1,077 meters of elevation, with the highest point reaching 1,313 meters.

The Skadi Loppet is recognized as one of Europe’s most challenging ski marathon events. Over the years, many battles have taken place here—some against competitors, others against oneself. As the event organizers say: “Everyone is a winner at the Skadi Loppet.”

For cross-country ski enthusiasts, conquering the Skadi Loppet is a must-have experience.

The SUBARU Skadi Loppet is now a Ski Classics Challengers event. Pro Team registered athletes can collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
