NYGAARD RANKED NUMBER ONE IN THE SC RANKING

SC ranking is the global ranking system for long distance skiers. Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Eiendom, moves up to the first position in the SC ranking after Engadin La Diagonela. Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team is now second, and Tord Asle Gjerdalen, Team XPND Fuel of Norway, is third in the SC Ranking.

Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Eiendom, climbs one step in the SC Ranking and is now ranked the number 1 long distance skier in the world. He is in the lead with 29,990,677 points. Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team, goes from third to second position with 28,956,109 points. Tord Asle Gjerdalen, Team XPND Fuel of Norway, step up from fourth to third position with 28,898,973 points.

In the top ten, we can also see these athletes moving upward: Morten Eide Pedersen, Team Nordic Athlete, 6th to 4th. Stian Hoelgaard, Team Koteng, 8th to 6th. Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden 9th to 7th. Øyvind Moen Fjeld, Lager 157 Ski Team, 10th to 8th. Kateřina Smutná, eD System Bauer Team, 14th to 9th and Joar Thele, Team Ragde Eiendom, 18th to 10th.

On the other hand, the third-placed athlete in Engadin La Diagonela Petter Eliassen, Team Ragde Eiendom, dropped from 1st to 5th position on the SC ranking list. The reason is that only the best 15 races within 24 months count in the SC Ranking. For the same reason, Oskar Kardin, Team Ragde Eiendom, dropped from 11th to 17th place, despite his win on Saturday.

Some athletes are taking big steps in the ranking if we look at the top 100. Ida Dahl, Team Ramudden, goes from 45th to 31st.  Nils Persson, Team Engcon, climbs from 65th to 48th. Emilie Fleten, Team Koteng, goes from 66th to 49th position after her third-place this Saturday. Petter Soleng Skinstad, Team Coop, climbs from 72nd to 56th after finishing in 30th place in La Diagonela.

Engadin La Diagonela winner Jenny Larsson, Team Ramudden, steps up from 74th to 58th position. Two more athletes take big steps among the top 100. Karolína Grohová, Silvini Madshus Team, 76th to 63rd and Johannes Eklöf, Team Ramudden, goes from 91st to 65th position after his great performance this Saturday, finishing in 8th place.

The following four athletes’ step into the top 100: Maxim Vylegshanin, Russian Winter Team (107th to 81st), Alexey Shemiakin, Russian Winter Team (103rd to 90th), Nico Walther, Team BSV IBEX, (119th to 98th) and Anastasia Rygalina, Russian Winter Team (135th to 100th).

Linn Sömskar, Team Nordic Athlete, takes a giant leap in the SC Ranking. After her 7th place this Saturday she goes from 3254th to 471st. Engadin La Diagonela was Sömskars first Pro Tour event. Previously, she had attended one Challengers race. Alliansloppet on roller skis 2020. A race she won.

The SC Ranking is open for all participants in all Visma Ski Classics event, Pro Tour and Challengers.The SC ranking is open for both professional and recreational skiers including all age groups, gender and performance levels.
