On Saturday, March 22, 2025, the spotlight falls on Marcialonga Bodø, a 50km long-distance skiing race in Norway, marking the 12th Pro Tour event of Season XVI.

Due to the warm weather and heavy rainfall last Tuesday, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has decided to move the location of Marcialonga Bodø to Valnesfjord. The event will keep its original length of 50km and start times.

About Marcialonga Bodø

On Saturday, March 22, 2025, the Ski Classics Pro Tour travels to a new destination in Norway. The brand-new Pro Tour event, Marcialonga Bodø, a 50-kilometer classic race, marks the 12th event of Season XVI.

Marcialonga Bodø, a Ski Classics Challengers event last season, now expands its horizons by joining the Ski Classics Pro Tour calendar for the much-anticipated event 12 of Season XVI. The event is a unique 50-kilometer long-distance race that promises to deliver a riveting spectacle.

Top Contenders – Women

Stina Nilsson, Team Ragde Charge: Despite being her first season in Ski Classics, Stina Nilsson has already won Vasaloppet and Birkebeinerrennet, proving her strength. The Olympic sprint champion has successfully transitioned to long-distance skiing, combining race intelligence with a powerful finishing kick. As she heads into Marcialonga Bodø, Nilsson is undoubtedly one of the top favorites for victory.

Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden: Emilie Fleten has been a solid force this season, leading the Climb ranking and holding second place in the Champion standings. She has claimed multiple victories, including Marcialonga, Grönklitt ITT, Grönklitt Criterium, La Venosta ITT, and Bad Gastein Criterium. Jenny Larsson, Lager 157 Ski Team: Jenny is number three in the overall standings at the moment, showcasing consistent top performances. She claimed victory at the Ski Classics Challengers events Tjejvasan and Åsarna Ski Marathon, along with podium finishes in Jizerská50, Grönklitt ITT and Criterium, La Venosta ITT, and 3 Zinnen Ski Marathon. With her climbing strength and endurance, Larsson is a serious challenger for Marcialonga Bodø.

Amund Hoel, Team Engcon: Ranked number 1 in the Champion bib, Amund Hoel leads the season with impressive consistency. His top finishes include 1st place at Bad Gastein ITT, 2nd place at Birkebeinerrennet, and 3rd at Grönklitt ITT, Marcialonga, and Engadin La Diagonela. Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Charge: A true Legend of long-distance skiing, Andreas Nygaard continues to dominate the sport. With a storied career and relentless drive, he remains a top contender for Marcialonga Bodø.

Johan Tjelle, Team Engcon: Ranked number two in the Champion bib, Tjelle has been delivering strong performances across the season. Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon: With a Jizerská50 victory and consistent top finishes, Bruvoll is proving to be a serious contender this season.
