After a solid season highlighted by three podium finishes, the Climb Bib, and a top-10 overall result in the Ski Classics Pro Tour, Swedish skier Axel Jutterström has chosen to continue with Team Eksjöhus.

Despite being a free agent and drawing interest across the long-distance skiing circuit, the Pro Team athlete has committed to staying with Team Eksjöhus, the Pro Team that has been central to his development.

Jutterström made an explosive debut in 2022, finishing third at Vasaloppet, and has since established himself as one of the most promising athletes in the Pro Tour. Last winter, he further cemented his place among the elite with consistent performances and a strong presence in the mountains.

The Mora-based skier, now entering his fourth season with Team Eksjöhus, emphasized the value of continuity and team spirit in his decision.

“It feels both cool and secure to continue with the same group that I enjoy being with and have developed so much alongside,” Jutterström said to Langrenn.com.

Team Success Drives Motivation

Team Eksjöhus had an outstanding 2024/2025 season, securing half of the bib competitions. Alongside Jutterström’s Climb Bib, Vebjørn Moen took home the Sprint Bib, while Jeremy Royer and Louise Lindström, both newcomers in 2023, claimed the Youth Bibs.

Four team athletes finished in the top 10 overall standings. Eirik Sverdrup Augdal and Louise Lindström placed sixth, Thomas Ødegaarden ninth, and Jutterström rounded out the list in tenth. Team Eksjöhus also clinched the overall Pro Team Competition for the second year in a row.

For Jutterström, this collective performance is a key motivator.

“We’re a great group of guys. Everyone is very consistent in training and at camps, and that’s helped all of us improve. They’re serious guys, I can learn a lot from.”

Eyes set on Yellow and Vasaloppet

Looking ahead, Jutterström and the team have set ambitious goals: chasing the Yellow bib and winning more races.

“Now we want to win more races. We’re all strong skiers, especially on hilly courses. But in races that end in a mass sprint, we still have work to do. The next step is for more of us to start winning races – and to win the biggest ones. That’s still to come,” he said.

On a personal level, Vasaloppet remains the ultimate goal. His third-place finish in his debut season gave him a taste of what’s possible.

“That’s when I realized that the dream of one day winning Vasaloppet was closer than I had thought.”

It’s a dream he intends to keep chasing – with Team Eksjöhus at his side.
