Gustav Eriksson (SWE) is joining Team Robinson Trentino for the Ski Classics Season XV.

Team Robinson Trentino, the Italian Pro Team, which secured a top 10 place overall in the Pro Team ranking during Season XIV, recently announced the signing of Gustav Eriksson, a former Swedish national team skier.

Taking to Instagram, Team Robinson Trentino shared the news:

“While our athletes are engaged in their first training camp, our leaders bring home a great market hit.
@gustaveriksson, a former Swedish National Team member from Falun, will strengthen the ranks of our Team.
Welcome in @visittrentino Gustav; we can’t wait to see you in action in the next Ski Classics season.”

Team Robinson Trentino Pro Team Director Bruno Debertolis expressed his anticipation for the forthcoming season and the new addition to the squad and shared his thoughts:

“Gustav will compete in full Ski Classics season. He is switching to be a long-distance skier at 100%,” says Debertolis and adds:

“I believe the most important thing is that he will bring a lot of international experience to inspire the remaining athletes on the team.”

With Eriksson on the Team, the squad is almost complete, and the goals for Season XV are set:

“We have a really good team in both genders, and for this reason, I’m quite confident to be able to confirm as a top ten team in the final ranking. But obviously, we will try to fight for a better position,” says the Pro Team Director and continue:

“Our Pro Team at the moment is composed of 9 athletes, five men and four women, and we will leave a last spot for one of our Team talent skiers. Some of them can fight at a really high level.”

Team Robinson Trentino’s first training camp of the season is underway in Italy.

“Our headquarter is located in Trentino, around Val di Fiemme and Passo Rolle, so we love to train here. Daily routine for Italians but a completely different way to work for foreign athletes. Eight days in the altitude of Passo Rolle, 2000m above sea level, for the first camp and probably the same or some more days for the next in September. Unluckily the men are not here for the first camp, only the women.”

The next training camp is already planned.

“In September, we will have the next one still in Passo Rolle/Predazzo and for sure one before the beginning of the winter season, probably Livigno in November,” concludes Bruno Debertolis.
