Tour de France stage 5 saw Simon Clarke (Israel – Premier Tech) winning the 157km race ahead of Taco Van Der Hoorn (Intermarche – Wanty – Gobert Materiaux) and Edvald Boasson Hagen (TotalEnergies).

Today, Stage 6 starts in Binche and covers 220km before finishing in Longwy.

Stage 6 – Binche to Longwy 220km

“This stage starts in Belgium and you drive in the neighboring country for a good while before entering France for the finish line in Longwy after 220 km. Again a hilly stage but the final here is tougher than in Calais. Two categorized short climbs at the end and the last 1.6 kilometers to the finish with an average gradient of almost 6% will be liked by the attacking cyclists. Longwy with its 15,000 inhabitants had both start and finish on Tour stages 1911, 1912, 1913 and 1914. Then you had to wait until 1982 when you had the finish line here again and most recently, 5 years ago, Peter Sagan won the stage,” says Vacchi.

The broadcast starts on Eurosport at 11:55. Neutral starts at 12:05. Expected arrival at 17:15.
