The Swedish Ski Association has named its Team Svenska Junior National Team for the 2025/2026 season.

According to a press release from the Swedish Ski Association, the junior national cross-country ski team has now been selected. Ten skiers will be part of the Team Svenska Spel Junior National Team for the 2025/2026 season.

“The training group now begins preparations for the winter, with the Junior World Championships in Trondheim as the season’s major highlight,” says the press release, and adds:

“The investment in Team Svenska Spel Junior National Team continues. Ten skiers have been selected to train and develop together during the upcoming summer and fall. The training group consists of five women and five men, with several new names on the team—athletes who have delivered strong performances both internationally and nationally.”

“We have several exciting skiers who will be important both during this winter’s Junior World Championships in Trondheim and in the years to come. Tage Börjesson was a clear winner of the BAUHAUS Cup this past winter, winning all the races there. Malva Nisén won gold at the Youth Olympics and also took the BAUHAUS Cup victory at home,” says national team manager Anders Byström.

“Education and development are the main focus for the training group, led by junior national team coach Linda Danvind Malm. The mission also involves laying a solid foundation for the future.”

“In 2028, the Junior World Championships will be held on home soil in Falun, and this year’s junior national team will help create the conditions for strong performances there as well. Building a strong training group that thrives together is important, and the athletes in the team also play a key role at their respective ski high schools, where they attend daily,” says Anders Byström.

Up next for the Team Svenska Spel Junior National Team is a period of training and camps, with gatherings in places such as Örnsköldsvik and Ulricehamn in Sweden.
