The 26-year-old won two silver medals at the Olympics this winter and delivered his best season yet. He now turns his attention to recovery ahead of the next season.

Ben Ogden returned home from the Olympics in Val di Fiemme with two silver medals, stood on the podium in the World Cup, and capped off the season with gold in the sprint at the national championships. However, he fell on the crusty snow in April and had to undergo meniscus surgery.

“I had surgery on it, which all went smoothly, and now I’m on the road to recovery,” Ogden reported on his Instagram account

Road to recovery

The injury forces Ogden to change his short-term plans.

“I have never had to take a major step back from the sport I love due to an injury like this. My hope is to be patient and let things fully heal, but I’m aware of how hard that will be once the summer kicks off in earnest,” he said. “This will drastically change my short-term plans, but not my career goals. It will take time, but I plan to be back smarter and stronger than ever.”
