by Leandro Lutz • 15.03.2023
The cross-country skiing World Cup heads to Falun in Sweden after thrilling sprint races at the Drammen World Cup. The Swedish Team is presented.

Falun, Sweden, is the place for this weekend’s cross-country skiing World Cup, with a 10km individual classic race on Friday, a freestyle sprint on Saturday, and a mixed relay on Sunday.

In a press release, the Swedish Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming World Cup in Falun. Sweden will start with 35 athletes. On the women’s side, Sweden will begin with 15 skiers. Already on the men’s side, 20 athletes will start for the Scandinavian country.

“Now we enter the final part of the World Cup season, and we do that at home in Falun, in front of a large audience. Since we have a home field, we get the opportunity to compete with a national quota. This means 12 Swedes who get to start in each race and allows some new name to test at the World Cup,” says National Team Manager Anders Byström, and continues:

“For example, we are bringing the Junior World Champion in the sprint, Anton Grahn, who will make his World Cup debut.”

Two other skiers making their World Cup debut are Elin Näslund and Ella Olsson.
