Norwegian star withdraws from Tour de Ski

After many top traditional cross-country skiers missing Tour de Ski season 2024/2025, another star withdraws from the traditional event.

The Tour de Ski has been rocked by another high-profile withdrawal as Norway’s Harald Østberg Amundsen, currently sitting third in the overall standings, has been forced to step away from the competition due to illness. The Norwegian national team announced that Amundsen woke up with a sore throat and has already returned home.

Amundsen’s exit is a major setback for the Norwegian squad, as he was just 57 seconds behind overall leader Johannes Høsflot Klæbo and poised to challenge for a top spot on the podium.

Adding to Norway’s challenges, Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget, another strong contender for a podium finish, has also withdrawn from the event. With these unexpected disruptions, Norway’s roster faces a tough road ahead, though several athletes remain capable of delivering standout performances.

The Tour de Ski has already seen its share of absences this season, with several top traditional cross-country skiers opting out. Amundsen’s withdrawal adds to the intrigue as the competition unfolds, leaving fans eager to see how the remaining contenders will rise to the occasion.
