While the Trondheim World Championships struggles financially and is unable to pay its bills, another Trøndelag native has no such problems. Johannes Høsflot Klæbo withdrew NOK 8 million (approx. EUR 695,000) in dividends after a strong profit in 2024.

Even though the operating profit reached NOK 10.2 million (approx. EUR 887,000) in 2024, it was a drop of NOK 2.4 million (approx. EUR 208,000) compared to 2023. However, this result came before Klæbo became the king of the World Championships on home soil.

According to e24.no, his company JHK AS posted a net profit of NOK 8 million (approx. EUR 695,000) in 2024 after all items were accounted for. That was down from NOK 9.8 million (approx. EUR 851,000) the previous year – a decline of 18.9 percent.

The Norwegian ski star has paid out dividends both in 2023 and 2024, amounting to NOK 9.7 million (approx. EUR 842,000) and NOK 8 million (approx. EUR 695,000) respectively, corresponding to the annual profits. As of 2023, Klæbo had a taxable wealth of NOK 25.7 million (approx. EUR 2.23 million), according to public tax records.

Even though Klæbo withdrew the entire profit as dividends, his company is far from broke. JHK AS had NOK 6.9 million (approx. EUR 600,000) invested in market-based bonds and NOK 5 million (approx. EUR 435,000) in equity at the end of 2024 – the same as the previous year.

Additionally, his holding company JHK Holding holds mutual funds and bond funds worth NOK 12.1 million (approx. EUR 1.05 million) and NOK 8.5 million (approx. EUR 740,000) respectively, according to e24.no.

His father, Håkon Klæbo, who serves as CEO of the companies, declined to comment to E24.

The 2025 figures will be interesting. Six World Championship golds certainly don’t hurt the bottom line, and just in World Cup prize money, he earned around NOK 4 million (approx. EUR 347,000).
