Team Front Rustad IL has announced that Iver Tildheim Andersen, winner of this season’s World Cup in Lillehammer, is joining the Pro Team for the upcoming Birkebeinerrennet.

Team Front Rustad IL has announced that Iver Tildheim Andersen, winner of this season’s World Cup in Lillehammer, is joining the Pro Team for the upcoming Birkebeinerrennet.

Andersen will be challenging Emil Persson and other Pro Tour skiers in the event, which is set to take place in just under two weeks. Vasaloppet, the third Grand Classics race of Season XIV, took place on Sunday. While there will be no competition in the Ski Classics Pro Tour next weekend, the following weekend will see the season’s twelfth stage and fourth and final Grand Classics event of Season XIV, with Birkebeinerrennet starting in Rena and finishing in Lillehammer, Norway.

Despite his World Cup victory at the 10km freestyle race in Lillehammer, Andersen was not selected for the Norwegian World Championships squad. However, he will now be racing for Team Front Rustad IL, a Ski Classics Pro Team.

Last weekend, Andersen finished 2nd in the 10-kilometer freestyle and 10th in the 20-kilometer classic-style races at the Scandinavian Cup in Latvia.

Next up is Birkebeinerrennet on Saturday, March 18. The race marks the 12th event of Ski Classics Season XIV.

The Season XIV of Ski Classics Pro Tour consists of 14 events on 10 event weekends in 6 different countries.
