Covid continues to cause problems for long-distance and traditional cross-country skiers. Four Swedish national team skiers have tested positive, and now Ski Classics star Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, is another positive case.

Covid continues to cause problems for long-distance and traditional cross-country skiers. Four Swedish national team skiers have tested positive, and now Ski Classics star Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, is another positive case.

The Norwegian cross-country skiers have had several Covid cases lately. During the weekend, the Swedish national team received a positive test through William Poromaa, and since then, both Jonna Sundling, Frida Karlsson, and Linn Svahn have also tested positive.

In less than two weeks, the Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XV starts in Austria, and now last season’s great name Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, has tested positive for Covid:

“Often things come untimely. Woke up with a bad feeling in my body, which resulted in a positive Covid test. But I’m not backing down for it. I’m looking forward and hope to be back on the ski track soon,” wrote Emil Persson on Instagram.

Ski Classics Season XV

The Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XV starts in less than two weeks. The winter season kicks off in Bad Gastein, Austria, on December 9, 2023, and ends in Norway with the 100km Ski Classics Grand Finale Janteloppet on April 13, 2024.
