Team Engcon won the Pro Team competition last season. Now, they are bringing in three new skiers: two Swedish athletes and a Vasaloppet winner.

Team Engcon has dominated Ski Classics in recent years. During Season XVII, the team won the Pro Team competition, the women’s World Championship overall and Sprint competition with Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, and the men’s Climb competition with Torleif Syrstad.

With Gjerde Alnæs retiring and Syrstad leaving the team, the Pro Team has now confirmed that it has strengthened its roster with three top athletes.

“We are very pleased to present our squad for the upcoming season. We have retained a strong and stable core while also bringing in new skiers who will help elevate the team further. This gives us a very exciting starting point for the coming winter,” says Pro Team Director Jørgen Ulvang in a press release.

Bringing three stars

On the men’s side, Torleif Syrstad, who dominated the end of the season, is leaving. The squad is now bolstered by Swedish star Axel Jutterström, who is transferring from Team Eksjöhus.

Following Vasaloppet, it was confirmed that Anikken Gjerde Alnes was retiring after the season. Team Engcon is making two major signings by bringing in Vasaloppet winner Emilie Fleten and Jenny Larsson.
