Fleten and Persson take top honors at Grönklitt ITT Season XVI
The Individual Time Trial in Orsa Grönklitt, Sweden, saw Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, and Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, winning the 9th event of Ski Classics Season XVI.
A fierce battle between the athletes marked the 13-kilometer race organized as a time trial with individual starts. A new feature for this ITT event was that the Sprint points were based on the fastest time from the Start to the Sprint checkpoint, and the Climb points were based on the fastest time from the Sprint point to the Climb checkpoint.
GRÖNKLITT ITT – WOMEN’S RACE
In the women’s competition, Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, dominated today’s 13km Individual Time Trial competition. It was her second win this weekend.
Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, showed a strong performance throughout the race and, at the 3.7km split, was already in fifth place, only 10.2 seconds behind Jenny Larsson, Lager 157 Ski Team, the leader at the first checkpoint.
At today’s Sprint segment, from the start to the 3.7km into the race, Jenny Larsson, Lager 157 Ski Team, crossed first, followed by Louise Lindström, Team Eksjöhus, in second place and 0.6 seconds back, with Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, in third position and 4.9 seconds behind.
At the Climb segment of the day, from the 3.7km mark to 10.1km into the race, Emilie Fleten crossed first with a time of 18:44.8, followed by Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, in second place and 11.9 seconds back, with Jenny Larsson, Lager 157 Ski Team, in third position and 33.8 seconds behind.
In the full 10.1km split, Emilie Fleten was already in the lead and 6.6 seconds ahead of Anikken Gjerde Alnæs in second place and 23.6 seconds ahead of Jenny Larsson in third position.
At the finish, Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, won with a good margin of 16.1 seconds over Anniken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, and left Jenny Larsson, Lager 157 Ski Team, with the remaining place on the podium, finishing 39.2 seconds behind the winner.
Louise Lindström, Team Eksjöhus, finished in the 4th position, 44.6 seconds behind, and Stina Nilsson, Team Ragde Charge, ended up in the 5th place, 59.4 seconds back.

GRÖNKLITT ITT – MEN’S RACE
In the men’s field, Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, was the fastest in today’s event, showing a solid performance and granting his first Pro Tour win this season.
Throughout the race, at the first split mark at 3.6km, Emil Persson had a tight fight in the top 5, only 11.1 seconds behind the leader at the time.
At the Sprint segment of the day, from the start to the 3.7km mark into the race, Vebjørn Moen, Team Eksjöhus, crossed first, followed by Alvar Myhlback, Lager 157 Ski Team, in second place and 7.9 seconds back, with Anton Persson, Team Ramudden, in third position and 8.1 seconds behind.
At the Climb segment of the day, from 3.7km to 10.1km into the race, Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, crossed first with a time of 16:09.0, followed by Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus, in second place and 4.0 seconds back, with Max Novak, Team Aker Dæhlie, in third position and 5.6 seconds behind.
At the full 10.1km split, Emil Persson had already reversed his deficit and was 5.1 seconds ahead of Max Novak and 19.1 seconds ahead of Amund Hoel. Torleif Syrstad and Axel Jutterström were close behind, trying to regain terrain and close the timing difference.
At the finish, Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, won with a good margin and a total time of 32:44.3. Max Novak, Team Aker Dæhlie, finished in second place, 13.2 seconds behind the winner. (*Update below)
The battle for the remaining podium place was fierce, with Torleif Syrstad, Team Engcon, finishing in the third position, 30.1 seconds behind the winner and leaving Amund Hoel, Team Engcon, in the 4th position, 32.6 seconds behind, and Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus, in the 5th place, 33.5 seconds behind.

Following the initial publication of our Grönklitt ITT race report, we would like to provide an important update regarding the final results.
Max Novak, Team Aker Dæhlie, and Alvar Myhlback, Lager 157 Ski Team, have been disqualified from the race after receiving their second yellow card. As a result, Novak and Myhlback lost their points in the race, affecting their overall standing. Max Novak now drops to third place, while Alvar Myhlback is ranked 36th. Ole-Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, retains the overall lead and will start Vasaloppet wearing the Yellow bib.

After the Grönklitt ITT, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, and Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, lead the Yellow Champion Bib Competition.
Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, and Vebjørn Moen, Team Eksjöhus, are carrying the Green bib of the Sprint Competition, after one Sprint today.
Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, and Oskar Kardin, Lager 157 Ski Team, carry the bib for the Climb Competition after one Climb checkpoint at today’s event.
The Pink Bib for the best Youth rests on Hanna Lodin, Team Engcon, and Jeremy Royer, Team Eksjöhus.
Team Eksjöhus and Team Engcon are tied as the best-ranked Pro Teams after the Grönklitt ITT Season XVI.
