Daniel Strand joins Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso
Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso finished Ski Classics Season XIV in 7th place in the Pro Team ranking. Earlier last week, the Norwegian Pro Team presented their squad for the upcoming season and has now announced the signing of Daniel Strand as a sports director for the 2023/2024 season.
Team Næringsbanken announcement on Instagram:
“Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso has signed the 41-year-old Daniel Strand from Alta (Norway) as sports director for the 2023-24 season.
Daniel has a lot of experience as a trainer, manager, and coach for various teams and clubs in Northern Norway. Bla Nordlysbyen Ski Team, Team Finnmark and Alta IF Langrenn. Daniel has also been active at a high level until he was 40.
Among other things, he was number 51 overall in Marcialonga 2022 and almost set a world record for skiing the most kilometers possible in 24 hours (427km). Daniel currently works as a sports teacher at Alta upper secondary school.
Daniel will take partial leave from his job as a sports teacher from December to April next winter and be the team leader/coach at all Ski Classics races throughout the winter. Daniel will also lead some of our training sessions.
He aims to facilitate optimal preparation and completion of all Ski Classics races throughout the season. Daniel will also contribute to developing the service for the team, for example, in testing skis.”
