Visma Ski Classics Podcast Orsa2Levi Reviews Season XII

by Teemu Virtanen • 15.12.2021
The Visma Ski Classics podcast Orsa2Levi airs tomorrow with two special guests David Nilsson, CEO of Visma Ski Classics, and Gustav Korsgren, the Director of Team Ramudden, as they review the upcoming winter and all the events in Season XII.

The Visma Ski Classics Season XII will start this weekend with two Prologue races in Orsa, Sweden, and the season has 14 events in 12 locations in four months. The finale of the season will be in Finland on April 9, 2022, when Ylläs-Levi takes place in the Finnish Lapland. There are new race locations in the Pro Tour, and 35 Pro Teams are more than happy to dive into action starting this weekend.

Orsa2Levi will exceptionally come out tomorrow instead of the usual Saturday release date, and David Nilsson and Gustaf Korsgren will talk about all the 14 events in more detail, tell you more about some new rules and changes taking place this winter, give you some insight on potential winners and dark horses, and prepare you for the upcoming season.

Additionally, Gustaf will tell you about his team’s preparation, goals and plans after the kick-off weekend. Since quite many of the Pro Tour events are now at high altitude, that puts a strain on the Pro Teams.

“I think this season is really good. There are many races at high altitude in the early part of the season, which means that we need adjust our traveling and training plans accordingly. We will leave right after the Orsa weekend and go to high altitude and prepare for the races in early January. You have to remember that adapting to high altitude changes every time you go high up. It depends on your shape, the date of arrival and many other things. We are trying to be in good shape when we go up, then it’s easier to adjust to it,” Gustaf analyzes the demands of high altitude on the podcast.

Orsa2Levi is available on all podcast platforms and on the Pro XC Skiing and Visma Ski Classics websites.
