Swedish Exsitec Ski Team strengthens its lineup for the Ski Classics season premiere with the addition of a promising 21-year-old from Skellefteå, Sweden.

A Pro Team Tempo and a 35km long-distance race are on the agenda in Bad Gastein, Austria, this weekend as Ski Classics kicks off Season XV. Following that, there’s a race weekend with a long-distance event and an individual competition in La Venosta, Italy.

Competing in these events for the Swedish Exsitec Ski Team will be Saga Nilsson from Skellefteå, Sweden.

“It is important for us to have two women starting in the season premiere when Frida (Hallquist) needs to prioritize her regular job this time. Even though we are a small team with fewer financial resources, it’s crucial for us to showcase ourselves on both the men’s and women’s sides. Therefore, we are pleased that Saga Nilsson wants to try long-distance racing on short notice. It’s extra exciting to include a young talent,” says team manager Niclas Hägglund to Langd.se.

21-year-old Saga Nilsson has delivered several solid performances in the early season on traditional distances, including a 25th-place finish at the Swedish premiere in Gällivare a few weekends ago.

In addition to Frida Hallquist, who will not be racing this weekend, the team includes Emma Ivarsson, Klas Nilsson, Einar Kalland-Olsen, Gabriel Strid, Jakob Karlsson, Niclas Hägglund, and Linus Jansson.
