In March, the Swedish ski star put an end to her season. Now, she has made a decision about her future.

When Stina Nilsson transitioned to long-distance skiing two years ago, she signed a two-year contract with Team Ragde Charge, the Norwegian Pro Team led by brothers Jørgen and Anders Aukland. That contract has now expired.

The first season was a fairy tale from the first double poling to the Grand Finale in April. However, the following season proved to be extremely challenging. By March, she decided to end her season early, withdrawing from the final events.

“There have certainly been some bright spots, but I’ve concluded that the best thing right now is to end the season and allow my body and mind to recover,” said the 32-year-old when she made her decision.

Nilsson’s only victory this season came at Engadin La Diagonela in January. She also finished second at the Bad Gastein Criterium in December.

Has made a decision

Now, Nilsson has made a decision about her future. She will continue as a long-distance skier. This was confirmed by team manager Jørgen Aukland of Team Ragde Charge to Langrenn.com.

“Stina is incredibly disappointed with how the season has gone. But now she is highly motivated to bounce back and win races,” he said to Langrenn.com.

“She is and will continue to be our main athlete,” Aukland added.

The remaining women’s squad for Team Ragde Charge has not yet been finalized.
