Eirik Sverdrup Augdal was on the podium at Reistadløpet. Now the 27-year-old has signed a three-year contract with Team Eksjöhus.

Last week, Magni Smedås extended her contract with Team Eksjöhus for another three seasons. The Swedish Pro Team has now signed an agreement with another Norwegian athlete, Eirik Sverdrup Augdal.

Augdal has good credentials in both traditional cross-country and long-distance skiing. In the traditional, he was fourth at Holmenkollen 50km in 2020 (his last World Cup race). Last season, he finished third overall in the Scandinavian Cup, and his results also include two golds from the Junior World Championships.

But the Norwegian skier also started in long-distance races last season. Of the seven Ski Classics events he raced, he has been in the top seven on four occasions. The best result was second place at Reistadløpet.

During the Easter weekend, he won the Ski Classics Challengers event Janteloppet; read more here.

“I’m looking forward to being part of Team Eksjöhus next season. It’s a fun group to travel around with, and I aim for us to achieve many good results together,” says Augdal in a press release.

Pro Team Director Espen Träldal is delighted with the signing:

“A top-class signing. A fantastic talent that we believe will make great steps in the coming years in Ski Classics. Serious with big ambitions and an enjoyable guy to have on the team. A good team player and optimistic,” writes Team Eksjöhus in a press release.
