The Norwegian roller ski company that supplies equipment and service to the FIS Roller Ski World Cup is embarking on an extensive project to help Ukrainian skiers with equipment.

“We have been planning this ever since the last World Cup,” says Henrik Lindhagem from the Norwegian roller ski company FF Rollerskis AS.

FF Rollerskis has supplied skis and service to the Roller Ski World Cup for several seasons. But ahead of the current season, the Norwegian roller ski manufacturer signed a contract with the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) as the official supplier of roller skis and service for the World Cup and World Championships.

The company has also agreed with the Ukrainian Ski Federation, whereby they will donate roller skis to Ukrainian skiers.

“We are only doing this because it is the only right thing to do, and it is something we have been planning since the last World Cup. We want as many Ukrainian children and young people as possible to try roller skiing, train and have fun, and think about something else (than the war),” says Lindhagen to Langrenn.com

A significant contribution and a great responsibility

For Lindhagen and the small company, it is a great pleasure to be able to contribute to spreading the joy of skiing in the war-torn country. The athletes participating in the Roller Ski World Cup use the roller skis sent to Ukraine.

The start of a bigger project

In connection with this weekend’s Roller Ski World Cup stage in Latvia, Lindhagen delivered the first roller skis. In the long term, he hopes to be able to donate even more pairs but will progress step by step in the project. He is clear that he has also taken on responsibility for service.

“We hope to give away 100 pairs +, and that we will take full service on all skis that are delivered to us,” says Lindhagen.
