After anchoring Sweden to second place in the World Cup relay in Lillehammer, Moa Olsson won’t be racing in Davos this weekend.

The 24-year-old has caught a cold and left Davos; Switzerland, on Wednesday.

“Moa Olsson has a mild respiratory infection. It is something that heals better at sea level than at high altitudes like Davos,” says Swedish national team doctor Jan Wall.

Olsson is one of several promising young racers in Sweden.

After posting strong results in the early season events, she was selected for the World Cup in Lillehammer last weekend. On Sunday, the 24-year-old anchored Sweden to second place in the relay, edging out Norway’s Helene Fossesholm in a thriller sprint finish for the podium.

Fellow national team racer Marcus Grate also sits out this World Cup weekend due to respiratory problems. However, both are expecting to be back in the coming weeks.

Additionally, Charlotte Kalla decided to skip the Davos World Cup. Aiming for the Olympics in February, Kalla is prioritizing training over racing in the early season.
