Anne Kjersti Kalvå looked more energized at the Blink Classics in Norway than she has in a long time. The 33-year-old endured a tough season last winter and missed out on a spot at the World Championships on home soil in Trondheim, named only as a reserve.

“Right now, I’m in a really good place,” Anne Kjersti Kalvå told TV2.no.

The Norwegian skier from Trøndelag shared that she’s gone through several changes, both professionally and personally.

Her goal is crystal clear: earning a spot on the Olympic Norwegian team for Milano-Cortina 2026.

Solid Performance Despite the Gap

In the Lysebotn Opp hill climb, Kalvå finished in 7th place. Despite being three minutes behind Heidi Weng, she remained unfazed:

“That was expected, I still have some work to do. I’m quite a bit behind Heidi, but not that far off from the rest,” Kalvå told TV2 after finishing.

New Team, New Energy

Without a spot on the Norwegian national team, Kalvå has found new motivation with Team Aker Dæhlie, where she now trains alongside stars like Astrid Øyre Slind, the dominant winner of the Blink Classic, claiming victory for the third consecutive year.

“I’m doing really well. I’m very happy with my team, and I’ve had a great summer. The training setup is excellent, and I think trying something new is doing me good,” Kalvå added to TV2.

In Ålgård, Kalvå was in contention for second place right up to the end but stood no chance in the final sprint against Lotta Udnes Weng, Laura Gimmler, and Silje Øyre Slind.
