The fourth stage of the cross-country skiing World Cup season 2023/2024 starts in Trondheim, Norway this Friday. The German national team is presented.

Trondheim, Norway, is the place for the fourth stage of this year’s cross-country skiing World Cup. The event starts on Friday, December 15, with a sprint in freestyle technique, followed by a 20km skiathlon on Saturday, December 16. The Trondheim World Cup ends with a 10km interval start race in classic technique on Sunday, December 17.

In a press release, the German Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming World Cup in Trondheim. Germany will start with 12 athletes. On the women’s side, Germany will start with 7 skiers. Already on the men’s side, 5 athletes will start for the European country.

Four athletes are missing the squad for Trondheim due to Covid: Katharina Hennig, Laura Gimmler, Albert Kuchler and Florian Notz.

“Some of them have already been able to resume training. However, the goal is clearly to achieve complete health in order to then be able to carry out adequate training. We work in close coordination with our doctor, Dr. Tom Kastner, the responsible coaches for the World Cup and the home coaches,” says Sports Director Andreas Schlütter.
