Friedrich Moch superior at the 10km freestyle race in Muonio

Today, the third and last day of the Finnish premiere weekend, took place in Muonio with a 10km individual start race in freestyle technique for men and women. Germany dominated the event, and Friedrich Moch (GER) won the men’s skate race with a superior performance.

Today, the third and last day of the Finnish premiere weekend, took place in Muonio with a 10km individual start race in freestyle technique for men and women. Germany dominated the event, and Friedrich Moch (GER) won the men’s skate race with a superior performance.

In the men’s 10km individual start freestyle race, Friedrich Moch (GER) won with a total time of 22:55.5.

Moch’s teammate, Anian Sossau (GER), came in second place 3.9 seconds behind, and Davide Graz (ITA) completed the podium in third place 5.7 seconds behind the winner.

Muonio FIS Races

The Finnish FIS season premiere in Muonio is known for drawing a large and solid international field. For many elite cross-country skiers, these races are an essential performance indicator for the World Cup in Ruka and a good thermometer for the winter.

The program in Muonio included a classic sprint race on Friday, a 10km classic race with individual start on Saturday, November 11, and a 10km freestyle race with individual start on Sunday, November 12. 

Around 300 athletes from 19 different countries took part in the FIS races.
