‘Rampa Con I Campioni,’ which in free translation means ‘Climb With The Champions’, is a side event to the famous Tour de Ski final stage, the thrilling final climb to Alpe Cermis.

The event was held today before the official end of Tour de Ski, starting at Lago di Tesero cross-country ski stadium and finishing in Alpe Cermis, Cavalese, Italy. The winners were Dario Cologna (SUI) and Anna-Karin Strömstedt (SWE).

While professional traditional cross-country skiers compete at the 10 kilometers mass start skate race, amateurs had the chance to compete and test themselves against former professional skiers at the demanding Final Climb, over 10 kilometers.

Dario Cologna, from Switzerland, won this year’s edition and finished the course in 31:58.0.

In a statement to Newspower.it, Cologna said, “it’s nice coming back, competing and winning,” and continued: “Val di Fiemme gave me four Tour de Ski and a World Champion title; it’s always a pleasure.”

Alexander Brandner-Egger, from Austria, finished in 2nd place just 1.2 seconds back, with a time of 31:59.2. Petter Northug, from Norway, finished 3rd, 34.2 seconds behind the winner.

The Swedish Anna-Karin Strömstedt won the women’s race with a total time of 37:54.9. Second place went to Sigrid Mutscheller, from Germany, 38:47.2, followed by Dary Ryazhko, from Kazakhstan, with a time of 40:04.7.
