The World Champion has become a mother for the first time, reports Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen on her social media.

Last week, the 37-year-old and her partner became parents for the first time. So far, the couple has not revealed whether the baby is a boy or a girl.

Uhrenholdt Jacobsen thus joins several former cross-country skiing stars who are expanding their families this year.

A week and a half ago, Finnish skiing star Iivo Niskanen became a father for the second time., and earlier this autumn, 2022 Olympic stars Alexander and Natalia Terentev became parents for the first time.

Switzerland’s great Olympic star Dario Cologna became a father in mid-April.

At the end of April, Sweden’s national team veteran Calle Halfvarsson also became a father for the second time. The 34-year-old also announced that he is motivated to continue his career through the World Championships on home soil in Falun in 2027.

And at the end of August, Olympic gold medalist Veronika Stepanova revealed that she is expecting a baby.

Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen had her major international breakthrough with a World Championships gold in the sprint in Sapporo in 2007. Throughout her active career, she participated in three Olympics (Vancouver 2010, Sochi 2014, and PyeongChang 2018) and contributed to Norway’s gold in the relay in 2018.

She has won ten World Championships medals, including three golds, from the seven championships she competed in. She made her World Cup debut in 2005, competing in a total of 258 World Cup races, standing on the podium 43 times and winning six of them before retiring after the World Cup in Holmenkollen in 2020, just days before the COVID-19 lockdown.
