Rustad IL stands tall as one of Norway’s most prestigious ski clubs, steeped in Olympic and World Championship history. The Pro Team, Team Front Rustad IL, carries the club’s legacy onto the grand stage of Ski Classics.

With a roster of ten skilled athletes, the Pro Team boasts a blend of youth and experience, bringing the best of both worlds to long-distance skiing.

According to Atle Smenes, Pro Team Director, “Team Front Rustad IL in Ski Classics is our club’s offer for the athletes that wants to focus on long-distance skiing,” and elaborates:

“We have a good mix between young athletes and experienced athletes, and our hope is to achieve top results at the same time as we want to develop young athletes to become top athletes in Ski Classics.”

With Front as their team sponsor, a local company that has supported the club over the years, the team enjoys strong local backing. Furthermore, Team Front Rustad IL takes pride in the fact that five of their athletes have their roots in Rustad IL. The club has a remarkable track record of propelling its athletes to top teams, most recently Amund Riege and Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, both bib winners last season.

For Ski Classics Season XV, the goal is clear:

“Our primary goal is to raise the level of all athletes on the team and keep the position within the Top 20 in the Pro Team standings.”

With a rich heritage, a commitment to local collaboration, and a mix of youth and experience, Team Front Rustad IL is undoubtedly a force to reckon with in the upcoming season.
