Johannes Thingnes Bø headlines Finnish Biathlon Carnival in Vuokatti
The Finnish Biathlon Federation is set to host its Biathlon Carnival in Vuokatti from July 23 to 26, 2026, with a record number of participants registered for this year’s edition.
The headline attraction is Norwegian superstar Johannes Thingnes Bø, the most decorated athlete in biathlon history, who will join the camp to train alongside participants, share tips with young enthusiasts, and speak about his career and path to the top of the sport.
Finnish national team athletes Sonja Leinamo, Tuomas Harjula and Arttu Heikkinen will also take part in the carnival, giving young biathletes the chance to train alongside some of the country’s best. The program is rounded out by an expert lecture from Jonne Kähkönen, currently serving as shooting coach for the Swedish national biathlon team.
The carnival is aimed at young biathletes under the age of 17 and first-timers curious about the sport, with the goal of creating an inclusive and inspiring environment for trying biathlon and bringing together young people, families and the wider biathlon community.
On Friday, July 24, Bø will go head-to-head with the Finnish national team athletes in a shooting competition at the Vuokatti Biathlon Stadium, one of the highlights on the four-day schedule.
The event is held in Vuokatti, Finland. More information is available at the Finnish Biathlon Federation website.
