Ole Jørgen Bruvoll and Anikken Gjerde Alnæs crowned Champions Season XVI
Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja, the 14th and final event in Ski Classics Season XVI, took place this Sunday in Norway. Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, and Ebba Andersson secured the event win with solid performances.

Summit 2 Senja in Norway, the 14th and final event in Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVI, took place today with a 60-kilometer long-distance event in classic technique with a thrilling finish for both men and women.
GRAND FINALE SUMMIT 2 SENJA – MEN
The men’s race started at 8:30 CET, and the pace was fast. With 10km into the race, a solid group of about 20 skiers formed ahead of the day’s Sprint.
At the Sprint checkpoint of the day at Johannesmyra, 11.1km into the race, Thomas Joly, Team Ramudden, crossed the sprint line first, followed by Truls Gisselman, Team Ramudden, and Alfred Buskqvist, also from Team Ramudden.
After the Sprint and about 40km to go, a 15-skier group was strong at the front, with Torleif Syrstad, Team Engcon, setting a solid pace.
Over the kilometers, the pace was controlled in the front group, with several skiers sharing some work.
At the 32.1km mark in Skihytta, the leading group showed a controlled pace, with Magnus Vesterheim, Team Aker Dæhlie, crossing the checkpoint first, followed by Morten Eide Pedersen, Team Eksjöhus, and Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus, with 18 skiers crossing the line within 7.7 seconds. The first chaser, Kasper Stadaas, Team Ragde Charge, crossed the checkpoint 39.9 seconds back, and the first chasing group was already over 54 seconds behind.
Heading to the only Climb checkpoint of the day and the final Iconic Climb for Season XVI, Syrstad was on the offensive, with the skiers constantly working to stretch the leading group.
At the 10km to go mark, the real climb to Magdaskaret started, and soon the steep gradient kicked in, Syrstad and Bruvoll increased the pace and split the field.
Ole Jørgen Bruvoll showed his strength a few kilometers up the hill, increased the pace, and got a small gap. With 8km to go, the gap was already 8 seconds to the chasers and rising.
At the Magdaskaret Climb checkpoint, 54.8km into the race, Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, crossed first, followed by Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus, 23.4 seconds back, and Torleif Syrstad, Team Engcon, 24.5 seconds behind.
Jørgen Bruvoll had a comfortable margin over the chasers after the Iconic Climb and down to the finish line.
In the end, the gap over the chasers proved enough, and Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, won Summit 2 Senja, the 14th stage of Ski Classics Season XVI, in a total time of 2:36:35.9.
Second place went to Johan Hoel, Team Ragde Charge, 4.4 seconds back. After another solid performance, Eirik Sverdrup Augdal, Team Eksjöhus, finished in the third position, 4.6 seconds behind the winner.

GRAND FINALE SUMMIT 2 SENJA – WOMEN
The women’s race started at 8:35 CET. The pace was high from the beginning, and a front group of eight skiers soon formed.
About 5km into the race, the front group split, and a solid lead was formed, containing four favorites: Stina Nilsson, Ebba Andersson, Emilie Fleten and Anikken Gjerde Alnæs.
At Johannesmyra, 11.1km into the race, the Sprint checkpoint was won by Stina Nilsson, Team Ragde Charge, closely followed by Ebba Andersson, then Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, and Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden. The closest chaser was Hanna Lodin, Team Engcon, already 28.8 seconds behind the leaders.
The leading group worked well after the Sprint, with 45km remaining. With 43.5km to go, Lodin could not close the gap to the leaders and was already 32 seconds back.
At the 32.1km mark, at Skihytta, the leading group showed good cooperation. Anikken Gjerde Alnæs crossed the checkpoint first, followed by Emilie Fleten, Stina Nilsson, and Ebba Andersson. Hanna Lodin was 34.4 back, and the chasers behind (Louise Lindström and Jenny Larsson) were already 2:29.4 behind.
Inside the 10km to go, already on the steepest part of the final Iconic Climb of the season, Ebba Andersson increased the pace and got a gap over Stina Nilsson, with Anikken Gjerde Alnæs and Emilie Fleten already chasing back.
At the Magdaskaret Iconic Climb checkpoint, 54.8km into the race, Ebba Andersson crossed first, followed by Stina Nilsson, Team Ragde Charge, 1:07.2 back, and Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, 1:07.7 behind. Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, crossed the climb in fourth place, 1:52.3 behind the leader.
After the Iconic Climb and heading down to the finish line, Andersson was alone and could enjoy the race’s final stretch.
In the end, Ebba Andersson timed her strength perfectly and won this year’s Summit 2 Senja in a total time of 3:02:00.1.
Second place went to Stina Nilsson, Team Ragde Charge, 9.9 seconds back. Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, completed the podium in the third position, 40.6 seconds behind the winner.

SKI CLASSICS COMPETITIONS – FINAL STANDINGS
After a long winter and 14 Pro Tour events, the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja concluded all bib competitions in Ski Classics Season XVI.
Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, and Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, secured the overall victory in the Yellow Champion bib Competition.
In the Sprint bib competition, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, and Vebjørn Moen, Team Eksjöhus, secured the Green bib overall.
Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, and Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus, won the overall Climb Competition Season XVI.
The Pink bib for the best Youth was secured by Louise Lindström, Team Eksjöhus, and Jeremy Royer, Team Eksjöhus.
Team Eksjöhus is the overall winner in the Pro Team competition Season XVI, followed by Team Engcon in second place and Team Ramudden in third.
