Myhlback and Gjerde Alnæs winners of Orlen Sprint 2025

Ski Classics Pro Team athletes Alvar Myhlback, Lager 157 Ski Team, and Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, won the Friday evening Orlen Sprint at the Bedřichov Stadium.

It was Lager 157 Ski Team and Team Engcon’s evening in the double-poling Orlen Sprint at the Bedřichov Ski Stadium in the Czech Republic. 

Orlen Sprint – Men’s Race

In the men’s final, we saw a fierce battle between Alvar Myhlback, Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, and Vebjørn Moen. In the end, Myhlback took the lead and gave the rest of the field no chance. 

Gold went to Alvar Myhlback, Lager 157 Ski Team, 0.5 seconds ahead of Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, in second place. Vebjørn Moen, Team Eksjöhus, completed the podium in third place, 0.5 seconds behind.

“It’s a really fun race, and since there was no Jizerská last year, it’s awesome to be bac,k and I like it here,” says Myhlback after the win, adding about the preparation for Sunday’s Jizerská50:

“I think it’s perfect to get some speed in the body now, especially for me, as I’ve been ill some days ago, so I just needed to heat up the body again and get ready to push.”

Orlen Sprint – Women’s Race

In the women’s final, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, managed to be faster today and won the race with a total time of 3:23.0.

Second place went to Louise Lindström, Team Eksjöhus, 3.5 seconds back, followed by Julie Kvale Støstad, Team Ramudden, 4.3 seconds behind the winner, completing the podium in third place.

“It was interesting to do a sprint again because I haven’t done it in like two years and I was excited. It was a lot of fun, and I saw a good atmosphere in Jizerská,” says Gjerde Alnæs after her win.

Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVI (2024/2025)

Next up is Jizerská50 on Sunday, February 9, 2025. The 50-kilometer classic race marks the seventh Ski Classics Pro Tour stage and Season XVI’s second Grand Classics event.
