In a press release from Team Eksjöhus, the team announced that coach Marthe Kristoffersen is stepping down following a triumphant 2024/2025 Ski Classics season.

The team not only secured the overall Pro Team victory but also claimed four out of six category vests—an achievement that cements their place in Ski Classics history. Now, as the snow settles on a record-breaking winter, Marthe Kristoffersen’s departure marks the end of a remarkable era.

“It’s definitely the people—the athletes, the team, and the work we’ve done together—that have been the highlight of this journey,” says Kristoffersen. “We’ve all grown, learned about ourselves and each other. Being able to evolve both physically and as a group is something truly special.”

A former elite skier herself, Kristoffersen joined Team Eksjöhus with a wealth of experience and passion. Helping shape the team into a powerhouse of long-distance skiing. Her tenure as coach saw consistent development and resilience, even when setbacks came. The women’s squad faced illness during the season, but the team rallied. The resounding triple podium finish for the men at the Bodø Marcialonga was a fitting exclamation point to their winter campaign.

“We focused on building a deep and cohesive team—one that could perform regardless of who was on the start line,” she explains. “Watching everyone step up, both on and off the snow, has been incredibly rewarding.”

The decision to step down wasn’t an easy one. Kristoffersen cites a combination of personal reasons and a growing desire for new challenges.

What’s Next?

“I feel a hunger for something new,” she admits. “It’ll be nice to stay home a bit more in the winter—and hopefully find more big mountains to ski down.”

When asked what she’ll cherish most from her time with Team Eksjöhus, her answer is immediate:
“The community. And all the laughter.”

Pro Team Director Espen Träldal paid tribute to her impact:
“Marthe has been a very committed and talented person—an incredible resource for the team. Working with her has been fantastic.”

As Kristoffersen steps away, she leaves the team with one final message:
“Be yourself and build on everything we’ve done. Don’t fall asleep—always keep looking forward.”
